Lip Sync Making Characters Speak Chances are if you've ever animated a character, you've needed or wanted to make it talk, sing, or otherwise communicate via dialogue of some sort. Lip sync is the art of taking a pre-recorded track of dialogue, and making a character appear to speak it.

Building a Company Logo
The following tutorials will show the steps followed to create the One Cage logo animation shown above. On the left is the original logo supplied to me by my client. The thumbnails on the right are from the finished animation. These tutorials are intended as a review for my animation students, but the techniques presented will be useful to anyone using 3d Studio MAX.
Build a Purple Alien This is a 3D character building tutorial created for 3D Studio MAX R3 by Zoomorphix Systems. The tutorial outlines how to construct a Purple Alien from polygons using the right-click menu options under MeshSmooth. Below is a sample image of our finished charcter. In addition to the steps outlined in the tutorial, this character has had bones and a Skin modifier added so that it may be posed.
Edit Splines Being able to easily and quickly draw splines (lines) in MAX is a very handy skill. Splines are used for lathing to make circular objects, for loft paths and shapes, and for paths for objects to follow. This tutorial is designed to give you practice in working with splines so you can create them more efficiently.
